The Knightstown Chamber meets the first Thursday each month for its regular monthly meeting. The Board of Directors meets at 5:45 p.m. with the regular meeting following at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Hoosier Gym classroom (Adams Street entrance). All members are encouraged to attend and participate in making decisions to improve and support our community. Those interested in joining the Chamber are also welcome.

Board of Directors Meeting at 5:45 p.m.

Attendees - Rusty Johnson, Bill Windsor, Neil Shaneyfelt, Sue Hood, Emily McCorkle, Amy Blackwell

Minutes were approved. Moved by Neil Shaneyfelt and seconded by Emily McCorkle.

Reviewed Budget. One question posed regarding the information on the two payments to Embarq. Will check with Joni and discuss at next meeting.

Discussed the Concert on the Square. The group will arrive at 3 or 4 to set up and ready to go at 7 p.m. concert. The contract was signed for $600 for a two hour performance. They are on the website www.sofakingsmooth.com

Discussed advertising for the Sofa Kings concert in the Courier as there is a large following in New Castle also that might attend. A black and white ad is $109. Bill Windsor motioned to purchase ad and Rusty Johnson second.

Received and read a thank you note from Peg Mayhill to the chamber.

Discussed the directional signs going up for Interstate 70.

The Bylaws committees need to meet to make the decision on replacing board members who resign.

The website is up and going and the membership list is now correct; please inform Sue if you have any corrections or changes to make. Stacy Cox updated the website and would like recommendations on how the site is updated. Please direct information and comments through Sue Hood. The chamber agreed to allow the slide show link to the Banner.

Let the minutes reflect that the changeover to banking to sign checks. We need to remove Barbara Carter from banking signatures; leave on Joni Roberts and add Penny Shaneyfelt from the checking account.

The meeting for August will be cancelled.
