~ MINUTES for AUGUST 5, 2010 ~
Board of Directors Meeting at 5:45 p.m.
Board Members in Attendance - Steve Brooks, Sally Conyers, Sue Hood, Rusty Johnson, Jean Kraus, Neil Shaneyfelt, Tina Williams, Bill Windsor, Erin Winters
Sally Conyers conducted the meeting as President Amy Blackwell could not attend
Sally distributed the financial report for June and July.
The fish wagon profit was down $587.00 for Jubilee Days compared to 2009 (may be due to rain?).
Steve Brooks brought to our attention that the signs on the ends of town are not covered by insurance (vandalism and wind). He will look in to this and see what the cost would be.
Jessup paid for all of the dumpsters and portalets for Jubilee Days.
Merv Kilmer brought up that the Hoosier Gym is very grateful for the billboard. They have over 300 entries in July for the gym. He would like a sign perhaps at the corner of Main St. and North Adams? Someone mentioned a double-faced sign that could include the Memorial Garden and the Hoosier Gym. It was also mentioned that perhaps Make A Difference, Hoosier Gym and the Chamber could work together on getting this sign. Before any of this, it was decided to see if the state would do this for free. Eric Cox would have contact info for this.
Anyone that is available to help with the Farmers Market on Wednesday evenings or Saturdays that committee would be very appreciative. This goes on until October.
The Fall Fest committee will be meeting on August 12 at 6 p.m. at Everything Engraving. Jean Kraus brought to our attention that there cannot be doubles on food stands. (ex. Two stands can’t serve pork BBQ).
Jean Kraus brought up that the Korean War vets were not honored at Jubilee Days. The legion is having a dinner for them in November. They would like the chamber to go in half on plaques they will be presenting them. She will let us know the cost at the next meeting.
Sally did a great job on the parade!
No members showed up, therefore, meeting adjourned.
