   Chamber Members

The Knightstown Chamber meets the first Thursday each month for its regular monthly meeting. The Board of Directors meets at 5:45 p.m. with the regular meeting following at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held at the Hoosier Gym classroom (Adams Street entrance). All members are encouraged to attend and participate in making decisions to improve and support our community. Those interested in joining the Chamber are also welcome.

Treasurers Report - Given by Sally Conyers

Minutes for April were read by Neil Shaneyfelt; all in attendance approved minutes

The CD is at maturity. Steve Brooks motioned to move CD from Citizen to Ameriana Bank. All voted in favor.

Jubilee Days Parade time; discussed Merv motioned to move the parade start time to noon; all approved.

It was asked that the dumpsters for Jubilee Days be set up earlier in the week. Lin agreed to look into setting this up.

Discussion of the Town Council revitalizing a board for the park with discussion of the chamber's involvement with the project. Several in attendance were interested. Steve Brooks agreed to attend the May 20 council meeting.

Farmers Market Presentation by Sue Hood - Market Master will assign vendors their spots. Market will be held on Wednesday and Saturday. Discussed the advertising for "Buy Fresh, Buy Local" campaign. The committee needs to approach town council permission for use of space. Request for a certificate of insurance requirement; Steve Brooks will review this. The market will be held from June through October. A request was made for committee help on the farmers market. A welcome booth will be setup.

Discussion of Comcast Local Channel (Nonprofit advertising). Hancock Telecom also offers advertising on channel 9 for business subscribers.

In May, Associated Images Moving Picture production company - Savor Indiana is next Monday on Channel 6. Taping show May 30 weekend. Will be at Boondocks at 8 a.m., Hoosier Gym and lunch at Knightstown Café; 1 p.m. at CKS 3 p.m. at Knightstown Café.

Citizen of the Year - Catered by SugarBakers; Speaker Chris May; Barb Mofield coordinator, Letter for Scholarship.

Fish Wagon Remodeled - report by Neil Shaneyfelt.

Historic Walking Tour June 12, 2010 - One historic home open from 10-2; Knightstown Academy; Cobalt Blue Walking Tour; Request for volunteers to sign up for welcome table.
