Minutes ---

Spookapalooza was successful on October 30th. Rusty Johnson brought up having the fish wagon next year for Spookapalooza. It is normally on the Saturday before Halloween which would be October 29th next year. Sue Hood mentioned that the kids would probably enjoy hot dogs as well.

Myers Rent to Own is moved in to part of the old Kahlo Jeep.

Curves joined as a new member.

Red Hot Tanning is moving in to the Main Street Threads building.

Good Fellas is also getting ready to join the chamber. Neil asked if they were possibly looking for a location in Knightstown for their business. No one was aware of that.

Becky Spegal (owns dress shop in Shirley) may join as a member.

We will look at past memberships when we send membership invoices and see if they would like to join again. The Legion is going to see if Mike Riggs would like to be on the board. Steve Brooks recommended him but didn’t know if he would want to be an active member.

Rusty also recommended David Steele.

Sue Hood and Jean Kraus presented certificates at the academy for the Fall Fest helpers. The academy graduation will be on December 18th at the Knightstown High School Gym. They would like the chamber to attend and it takes about two hours. The chamber thought that it would be nice for them to help with Jubilee Days as well next year.

Merv talked to Don Dick with Citizens Bank and he didn’t realize they were no longer a member. He would like to sign back up.

The chamber CD at Citizens Bank has renewed again until January 29th. The Chamber would like to take Joni Roberts name off of this CD. Sally Conyers and Penny Shaneyfelt will be the signors from now on for this CD. This CD will be moved to Ameriana Bank when January is here.

It was discussed to give some kind of discount for those businesses that turn in their membership dues early.

The December meeting will be board members only. It will be on December 1st, 2010 at 5:45 p.m.

Minutes were approved.

Christmas decorations have been delivered and paid for. Sue mentioned that Amy should maybe jog Mel’s memory to hang Christmas decorations a little sooner this year. (Perhaps before Thanksgiving?) Last year we bought the town workers a meal at the Legion but it didn’t go over very well. Many didn’t utilize the opportunity or it just didn’t work with their schedules. We thought that maybe this year we could just get $10 VISA cards for only the workers that help put up the decorations.

At the town meeting it was mentioned that the chamber could get lights for the signs on each end of town. The chamber decided not to do this.

Jubilee Days and the Fall Festival are in the Festival Guide for next year even though we contacted them after the deadline. It cost $195 for both of them together.

Meeting adjourned.
